The Artist: A Nation Illustrated through Rhythm

Over the past few months, I have really been into the different types of art. The creativity of most people is at an all-time high. The dedication of the artist takes time and devotion to perfect their craft. This type of art isn’t completed overnight, this takes a lot of hard work. Hard work, blood, sweat and tears to make dreams into reality, but this dream, an artist’s dream is more than drawing on a paper–it’s a journey from the artist to his soulmate the canvas

On social media, I have noticed people that have put their own unique spin on artists photos and somehow recreate the artist in their own eyes, their own vision. No creative designer or artist has opened my eyes to such beauty like Carl Baker has. His artistry is one of a kind. He shows his art through the process. I had a chance to catch up with him and ask him about his creative style. Being an artist, he kept his words short and sweet, but actions speak louder than words.

The Stroke Of The Artist

My upcoming drawings will be of Janet Jackson. It will illustrate my interpretation of her album Rhythm Nation. It has always been my inspiration to be connected to Janet fans and to her work. The drawings will also depict current and past issues in tragedies that we all face in today’s society. My hopes are that people become more aware of Jackson’s message and hear the crystal from the unheard.

While Carl Baker is hard at work on his new drawings available this fall, he gave us a preview of one of his drawings above.

You can also keep up with Carl Baker and his drawings on his website CarlBakerArtist.net

*The drawings on the site are not new. His new drawings will be available in the fall
