The Dance World recently lost an amazing Dance Legend in Mike Andrews. To say that he left many broken inside, he left a huge footprint to fill. He left his mark.
Mike Andrews is best known for working with the infamous Janet Jackson during the Velvet Rope Era. He also worked with the likes of the late Great Whitney Houston and Aaliyah.
Knowing how hard he worked through dance, he worked harder behind the scenes in his community. He is very open minded when it comes to not only kids, but young adults following their dreams.
He linked up years ago with Junior Hubbard to start Janfam The Movement. Recently, they held a few Tour’Ography events. This event gives dancers an inside look into the process of an actual tour.
Sadly, November 19, 2016 would be the last event Mike would be apart of. On January 13, 2017, Mike Andrews died. This was a huge hit to all who loved and respected him. Our hearts are broken.
But this is an even bigger hit for his family. Mike loved his family and to honor Mike, we as Janfam and beyond should help them bury their son.
This event will be held January 21st to help pay for Mike’s funeral. The event is not just for dancers, if you want to watch there is a place for you as well. If you want to drop off a donation, you can.
Choreographers for the event are Terry Bixler, Rob Vison, Anthony Thomas and Mr Swoop. See the flyer below for prices..
This event is open to the public. Also if you are not able to make it, you can donate here Mike Andrews Fund
